INVITATION TO BID
By the City of Homer, Alaska, for the
Homer Redwood Water Storage Tank Demolition

ADDENDUM #1 ISSUED 7/31/13

Sealed bids for the Homer Redwood Water Storage Tank Demolition will be received at the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, City of Homer, 491 East Pioneer Avenue, Homer, Alaska, until 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 8, 2013, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.  The time of receipt will be determined by the City Clerk’s time stamp.  Bids received after the time fixed for the receipt of the bids shall not be considered.  Bidders are required to be on the plan holder’s list to be considered responsive.  To be on the Bidder’s List (and to obtain bid documents) contact: City Clerk, 491 E. The project is funded with the City of Homer Water Reserve Fund. The City’s local bidder’s 5% preference requirements will apply; state prevailing wage rates will also apply.  The work includes, but is not limited to, the following:

To permanently cap off all incoming and outgoing water mains that are associated with the tank.  Removal of all asbestos containing material from roof.  Demo and remove the entire redwood tank structure and its foundations.  Backfill, compact and grade the tank site.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Homer City Hall in the upstairs conference room to discuss the project and answer any questions bidders may have.

Contact the Office of the City Clerk to request an electronic copy of Plans and Specifications at no charge or obtain hard copies upon payment of $190 per set ($225 for overnight delivery). City of Homer Standard Construction Specifications 2011 Edition (containing general contract provisions) may be downloaded from the City’s web site.  All fees are non-refundable.  The City of Homer reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities or informalities in the bids, and to award the contract to the lowest responsive bidder.
