INVITATION TO BID
By the City of Homer, Alaska, for the
Water Treatment Plant Building Demolition

Sealed bids for the construction of Water Treatment Plant Building Demolition project will be received at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, City of Homer, 491 East Pioneer Avenue, Homer, Alaska, until 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. The time of receipt will be determined by the City Clerk’s time stamp. Bids received after the time fixed for the receipt of the bids shall not be considered. Bidders are required to be on the plan holder’s list to be considered responsive. Bid Documents can be downloaded electronically; contact: City Clerk, 491 E. Pioneer Avenue, Homer, Alaska 99603, (907) 235-3130 to be placed on bidder’s list and gain access to the bid documents.

The City’s local bidders 5% preference requirements and state prevailing wage rates will apply. The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and other facilities necessary to perform the desired services. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Salvaging for the benefit of the Contractor all equipment and materials within building; removal and proper disposal of hazardous material; demolition of building structure and contents; removal of all demolition debris and contents from site. No foundation removal.

A pre-bid conference will be held on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 9:30 AM at the Skyline Drive water treatment building to answer any questions bidders may have.

Plans and specifications may be obtained electronically at no charge or at the office of the City Clerk upon payment of $75 per set ($105 for overnight delivery) and $50.00 per set for the City of Homer Standard Construction Specifications, 2000 Edition. All fees are non-refundable. The City of Homer reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities or informalities in the bids, and to award the contract to the lowest responsive bidder.
