For City Owned 2012 Nick Dudiak Fishing Lagoon Dredge Materials

Sealed bids will be received at the Office of the City Clerk, 491 E. Pioneer Avenue, Homer, Alaska 99603 until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012 at which time they will be publicly opened.  Bids received after the time fixed for receipt of the bid shall not be considered.  

The City of Homer is seeking bids from firms or individuals wishing to purchases dredge materials from the from the Fall 2012 Nick Dudiak Fishing Lagoon dredging project.  The dredged materials being sold are of two grades.  The combined total maximum for all bids is estimated at 32,000 cubic yards.  An estimate of 15,000 to 20,000 cubic yards consists of the top grade material; the remainder is of the base fill.  Minimum amount of materials on which a bid will be accepted is 100 cubic yards.  Minimum acceptable price is $7.00 per cubic yard for top grade material and $5.25 per cubic yard for base fill.  This material can be viewed where it is stockpiled between Freight Dock Road and the “Truck Bypass Road”.  Firms or individuals that are interested in purchasing and removing dredge material for use on or off the Homer Spit are requested to review the materials description, location, bidding instructions and terms.  This information may be obtained at the City Clerk’s Office, Homer, Alaska, and will be mailed or faxed to requesting firms.  Bidders must contact the City Clerk’s Office to be entered on the list of bidders prior to submitting their bid.

All bidders are expected to carefully examine the materials description, location, bidding instructions and terms before submitting a bid.  Submission of a bid will be considered prima facie evidence that the bidder has carefully examined this information and is totally satisfied as to the restrictions on use of the material and any and all terms of this Invitation to Bid.

The bid shall include everything necessary for the removal and haul-away of purchased materials, including but not necessarily limited to labor, materials and equipment and to include final grading of the area where dredge materials had been deposited if successful bidders’ removal operation excavated below the adjacent land grade in any spot.

The City of Homer reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities or informalities, and to award these dredge materials to the highest single bidder, or combination of bids.
