Homer City Clerk Jo Johnson Named 2014 Municipal Clerk of the Year

City Clerk Jo Johnson was named the 2014 Municipal Clerk of the Year award by the Alaska Association of Municipal Clerks at their annual meeting in November.

The award recognizes length of service, good relationship with other municipal clerks, interest in education, furthering your professional association, participation in local meetings, community service, and furthering the municipal clerk profession.

In her nomination letter, Mayor Wythe states: "During my tenure on City Council and as Mayor, Ms. Johnson never ceases to impress me. She is the most passionate City Clerk I know--the kind of person who goes out of her way to help the Council, City Manager, colleagues, and the community. She is unfailingly prepared, dependable, efficient and punctual. Ms. Johnson is my right hand during Council meetings; she politely and professionally keeps me on track as I would be lost without her.  I have never worked with a person who pays as much attention to detail."
