Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy

CEDS title

The plan reflects more than two years of work by the Economic Development Commission with assistance from City staff and a VISTA volunteer who coordinated and compiled public input. The CEDS replaced the 1999 Overall Economic Development Plan and represents a major update, consistent with the 2008 Homer Comprehensive Plan.

The CEDS covers topics ranging from government policies and services, quality of life factors, affordable housing, the impact of peak oil and climate change, Homer's various economic sectors, and downtown development. The plan will be updated from time to time; for example, with new demographic data as it becomes available.
