TO: MAYOR HORNADAY AND HOMER CITY COUNCIL
FROM: COUNCILMAN BRYAN ZAK
DATE: JUNE 1, 2010
SUBJ: INCREASING ALLOWABLE BUILDING SIZE IN TOWN CENTER DISTRICT FROM 75,000 SQUARE FEET TO 100,000 SQUARE FEET.
The Economic Development Advisory Commission has recommended (Memorandum 10-75) that the Homer City Code be revised to increase the size limit for retail and wholesale buildings in the Town Center to 100,000 square feet on both Sections (21.20.40(e)(1) and (e)(3) of the Code. To accomplish this, the Advisory Planning Commission must review and approve an ordinance which the Council must then review and adopt.
RECOMMENDATION: That Ordinance 10-31 be approved on first reading and then referred to the Advisory Planning Commission for its review and approval and then referral back to the Council for its final action.
