Subject: Soundview Avenue/Woodard Creek Culvert Replacement
Construction Contract Award Recommendations

The City opened bids for this project on May 5. Four bids were opened and read:

Peninsula Construction $353,885 Kenai, AK
Prosser-Dagg $309,915 Palmer, AK
Green Construction $215,699.37 Homer, AK
East Road Services $370,680 Homer, AK

Engineer’s Estimate $236,095

Green Construction was found to be the low responsive bidder. Public Works has reviewed the qualifications and abilities of Green Construction and find that the firm is qualified to complete the work. The low bid for this project is within the budget established by the City Council.

Recommendations:

The City Council award the construction contract for the Soundview Avenue/Woodard Creek Culvert Replacement project to Green Construction, of Homer, Alaska in the amount of $215,699.37;
and authorize the City Manager to execute all appropriate documents to complete construction.
