SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT OF COUNCILMEMBER HOGAN TO THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB TASK FORCE.

Members of the community have organized a Boys and Girls Club Task Force to research and resolve the issues surrounding this group who provides an essential service to this community by caring for our children after school. This task force is comprised of citizens with experience in grant writing, media, corporate sponsorships, construction/plant management and other businesses and community members willing to give their time to this project. The task force will also include the director and a board member of the Boys and Girls Club and would like to include a member of the city council to ensure representation of all stakeholders.

The task force will be a short lived effort with the meeting times to generally be 6:00 p.m. after the Boys and Girls Club closes for the day.

Councilmember Kevin Hogan has expressed an interest in serving on the Boys and Girls Club Task Force.

RECOMMENDATION:

Confirm the appointment of Councilmember Kevin Hogan to the Boys and Girls Club Task Force.
