Natural Gas

All the natural gas assessments have gone out and the October 5th extension has past. If you are on the 10 year plan the next payment is due July 1st 2016.  Payments may be made in person at City Hall, by mail, or with a credit card over the phone. The penalty for non-payment is an added 10% of the total outstanding balance AND the remaining balance will draw at an interest rate of 10.5% per annum until paid. 

2013 will be the first winter that some Homer homes are able to heat with natural gas.

By now you have heard; natural gas is coming to Homer. However, how many homes and businesses in the City of Homer have access to natural gas is currently being put before property owners.

The City has held three neighborhood meetings about the Natural Gas Special Assessment District at Homer High School Commons from October 16, 17 and 29th. 

Dryer. If you have a propane dryer, you should be able to easily convert it to natural gas. Keep in mind it needs to be vented properly to be safe and efficient.
 

If you have a large family, tight home and fuel efficient appliances, you may experience the greatest savings in changing out your hot water heater.
