A large volume of stormwater runoff generated in the center of homer outfalls into the Beluga Slough Freshwater and Saltwater Marshlands.  Some of this water outfalls in locations that benefit from natural treatment processes that the wetlands provide.  Unfortunately, a large volume of water that bypasses the marshland treatment area and flows quickly to Kachemak Bay.  The stormwater discharge contains pollutants from properties and roads.
