ORDINANCE 10-08(A)

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING $15,000.00 ($10,000.00 FROM THE UNALLOCATED REVENUES AND $5,000 FROM PLANNING RESERVES ACCOUNT) TO A JUNK CAR RESERVE ACCOUNT TO BE USED FOR THE REMOVAL OF JUNK CARS.

WHEREAS, The accumulation of junk cars reduces property values, are potential environmental hazards, and an eyesore; and

WHEREAS, Funds in the amount of $10,000 from the Unallocated Revenues and $5,000 from Planning Reserves Account to a Junk Car Reserve Account would cover the cost of removing junk vehicles; and

WHEREAS, The planning staff will utilize these funds to contract for the removal of fluids and batteries and tow services to the crusher and disposal site; and

WHEREAS, A Junk Car Reserve Account will carry funds forward and maintain a separate account for grant reporting purposes.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:

Section 1. The $15,000.00 is appropriated and hereby transferred to a Junk Car Reserve Account which the City Manager is authorized to execute the appropriate documents.
