ORDINANCE 10-40

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING A GRANT FROM THE KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH 2008 CRUISE SHIP PASSENGER TAX PROGRAM RECEIPTS IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,897.50, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly recently adopted KPB Ordinance 2009-19-27 which authorized the Borough to provide pass through grants to Homer and Seward using 2008 Commercial Passenger Vessel Tax Revenue (CPVTR); and

WHEREAS, AS 43.52.230 requires that the proceeds of this tax be used to improve port and harbor facilities, to provide services for vessel or watercraft visits, and to enhance the safety and efficiency of interstate and foreign commerce; and

WHEREAS, The 2008 CPVTR pass through grant for Homer is $2,897.50.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City of Homer:

Section 1. The Homer City Council hereby accepts and appropriates a CPVTR grant in the amount of $2,897.50 from the Kenai Peninsula Borough as follows:
