Ordinance 11-36(S)(A) Budget Amendment for Drainage and Improvements at the Fire Hall Parking Lot

ORDINANCE 11-36(S)(A)

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AMENDING THE FY 2011 OPERATING BUDGET BY REAPPROPRIATING $20,000 FOR DRAINAGE AND ASSOCIATED IMPROVEMENTS AT THE FIRE HALL PARKING LOT.

WHEREAS, The adopted FY 2008 Operating Budget contained a capital appropriation in the amount of $15,000 to make drainage improvements at the Fire Hall parking lot; and

WHEREAS, The project was not completed for a variety of reasons and no money was expended, however, the need to make drainage improvements still exists and the Fire Department wishes to have the expenditure reauthorized; and

WHEREAS, HCC 3.05.030 (b) provides “An appropriation for a capital expenditure shall continue in force until the purpose for which it is made has been accomplished or abandoned; the purpose of such appropriation shall be deemed abandoned if three years pass without disbursement or encumbrance of the appropriation.”

THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:

Section 1. The FY 2011 Operating Budget is hereby amended by re-appropriating $20,000 from the Fire Department Depreciation Reserves for drainage improvements at the Fire Hall parking lot as follows:

Section 2. This is a budget amendment ordinance, is not permanent in nature, and shall not be codified.
