ORDINANCE 15-04

 

AN ORDINANCE OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING A GRANT FROM THE ALASKA HIGHWAY SAFETY OFFICE IN THE AMOUNT OF $40,768.01 FOR THE HOMER POLICE DEPARTMENT PROJECT DRIVE AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

 

            WHEREAS, The City submitted an application for the Homer Police Department Project Drive to purchase a side by side ATV, an enclosed trailer, and fund Project Drive; and

 

WHEREAS, The ATV and funds will be used to conduct clinics at local schools to increase awareness of impaired driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol; and

 

WHEREAS, The State awarded the grant in the amount of $40,768.01, requiring a local match of $4,076.80; and

 

WHEREAS, The match of $4,076.80 was included in the 2015 budget.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:

 

            Section 1.  The Homer City Council hereby accepts and appropriates a Grant from the Alaska Highway Safety Office in the amount of $40,768.01 for Homer Police Department Project Drive as follows:

Section 2.  The City Manager is authorized to execute the appropriate documents.
