                                                                              ORDINANCE 16-37

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING A DONATION FROM PAUL M. HERTZMANN, INC., VINTAGE PHOTOGRAPHY OF SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000.00 FOR THE HOMER PUBLIC LIBRARY AND STIPULATING THAT THE FUNDS BE SEGREGATED AND USED BY THE LIBRARY IN SUPPORT OF ITS MISSION TO PROVIDE LIBRARY SERVICES.

               WHEREAS, The Homer Public Library budget for 2016 was reduced significantly and the Library Advisory Board committed themselves to encourage patrons and others to donate to the support of the Library; and

               WHEREAS, The Library Advisory Board may solicit donations of money and/or property for the benefit of the library in accordance with HCC 2.48.050(e); and

               WHEREAS, Monetary donations shall be deposited in a reserve fund designated for the use of the Homer Public Library; and

               WHEREAS, Paul M. Hertzmann, Inc., Vintage Photography of San Francisco, California, has donated $1,000.00 to be used by the Homer Public Library as needed to further support its mission to provide library services.

               NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:

               Section 1.  The Homer City Council hereby accepts and appropriates a donation from Paul M. Hertzmann, Inc., Vintage Photography, in the amount of $1,000.00 to use as needed for further support of the Homer Public Library in its mission to provide Library Services and directs the Finance Department to segregate the funds and insure that they are used for the intended purpose as follows:

Section 2. This is a budget amendment ordinance, is temporary in nature and shall not be codified.
