Event Title: Youth Voice - Liberty, Media & Justice: An Unsightly Triad?
Date/Time: Tue, Jan 21st 6:00pm
Location: Homer Public Library Fireplace Lounge
Tuesday, Jan 21, 6:00pm
Hear what young adults think.
Seniors from the high school Advanced Placement English class will give brief oral presentations of persuasive essays that they’ve written on the subjects of liberty, media, and justice.
Some of the questions they will be addressing are: How does media perpetuate or inhibit individual freedom? How does media promote or discourage justice? What role does media play in a free society? How is social media influencing individual freedom and justice?
The winning essayist will receive a $200 prize. We hope you’ll join us to celebrate the ideas of the next generation!
