- Several years as the Community Development Planner for the Aleutian/Pribilof Islands Association

Bachelor's Degree in Sociology - Monmouth College
Master's Degree - Washington State University
Emphasis on Rural and Environmental Sociology, Social Environmental Impact Assessment, Research Methods, Human Ecology and Public Policy.
Mr. Wrede is currently a member and past president of of the Alaska Municipal Manager's Association.
