The City of Homer has 17 dedicated parks, with amenities ranging from undeveloped to playgrounds, ballfields, and picnic areas. Both Bishops Beach and Karen Hornaday Park have picnic shelters available to reserve for gatherings and special events. In addition to the dedicated parks Homer also 7 park areas used for recreational purposes but not yet dedicated. Total park acreage is over 520 acres.
