Homer participates in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) to be eligible for emergency federal funding in case of a disaster. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has updated its Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) for the City of Homer. On Monday, August 26th the City Council adopted Ord. 13-32 which updates Homer's Floodplain maps and Homer City Code 21.41.
