Pilates is a method of exercise to strengthen your core muscles, to stretch and strengthen the body to keep it in balance and alignment. As you strengthen your core and improve your posture and body mechanics you may be able to treat or avoid lower back and neck pain. In this course you will learn basic Pilates mat skills, breathing, posture, and the proper exercise technique using the neutral spine. Taught by a Physical Therapist, this course will stress proper positioning and technique. It is meant for all levels and abilities, and is safe for most people. Bring a yoga mat or towel to class.
