RESOLUTION 10-64

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE ENERGY AUDIT/ENERGY PERFORMANCE CONTRACTING SERVICES PROJECT TO THE FIRM OF SIEMENS INDUSTRY INC. OF ANCHORAGE, ALASKA AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE A FINAL WORK SCOPE, SCHEDULE AND BUDGET AND EXECUTE THE CONTRACT WITHIN THE ESTABLISHED BUDGET.

WHEREAS, The Council has accepted an Alaska Small Cities Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant in the amount of ($227,800); authorized a $15,000 Sustainability Fund, and created a Revolving Energy Fund ($300,000) to provide funding for this project. Total funding available is $542,800; and

WHEREAS, The City received three proposals in response to the Request for Proposal (RFP) issued in accordance with the City’s procurement policy; and

WHEREAS, The proposals were reviewed by the Selection Committee comprised of three department heads, a City Council member, and an outside technical assistant and the Selection Committee found Siemens Industry Inc. to be the most qualified; and

WHEREAS, This award is not final until written notification is received by Siemens Industry Inc. from the City of Homer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, awards the contract for the Energy Audit/Energy Performance Contracting Services project to the firm of Siemens Industry Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska, and authorizes the City Manager to negotiate a final work scope, schedule and budget and execute the contract within the established budget.
