RESOLUTION 12-028

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT TO PACIFIC PILE AND MARINE, LP, OF SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, IN THE AMOUNT OF $70,500 FOR THE DEEP WATER DOCK FENDER REPAIR PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The corner fenders on the City’s Deep Water Dock were damaged during a storm in November 2011; and

WHEREAS, The Public Works Department has coordinated the preparation of repair plans and secured disaster relief assistance through the State of Alaska and FEMA; and

WHEREAS, An Invitation to Bid for the project was advertised for the project in local papers on March 13 and 20, 2012 and posted on the City’s website as required by the City’s Procurement Manual; and

WHEREAS, Bids for the project were obtained in conformance with the City’s Procurement Manual, four bids were received and publicly opened on March 15, 2012, and Pacific Pile and Marine, LP of Seattle, Washington, was determined to be the low responsive bidder (see Memorandum #12-052); and

WHEREAS, This proposed award is not final until written notification is received by either firm from the City of Homer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, approves the award of the construction of the Deep Water Dock Fender Repair Project to Pacific Pile and Marine, LP, of Seattle, Washington, in the amount of $70,500 and authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents to complete construction.
