RESOLUTION 12-096 (S)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, APPROVING A NEW ONE YEAR CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $40,000 PER YEAR WITH ANDERSON GROUP, LLC FOR LEGISLATIVE CONSULTING AND LOBBYING SERVICES.
WHEREAS, Anderson Group, LLC has successfully provided legislative consulting and lobbying services to the City of Homer in 2011 and 2012; and
WHEREAS, The current contract between the City and Anderson Group, LLC expires on December 31, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Linda Anderson has expressed an interest in continuing this relationship with the City and has submitted a proposal and draft contract for City Council consideration; and
WHEREAS, The Homer City Council reviewed the proposal and contract at its regular meeting on November 26, 2012, postponed action until December 10, 2012, and requested that the City Manager work with Anderson Group, LLC to incorporate several amendments to the contract including a change to the proposed term; and
WHEREAS, Anderson Group, LLC has agreed to all proposed amendments and a copy of the contract as amended is attached; and
WHEREAS, The Draft City FY 2013 Operating Budget contains $40,000 for professional legislative consulting and lobbying services and the Council has expressed an interest in retaining those services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Homer City Council hereby approves a new one year contract in the amount of $40,000 per year with Anderson Group, LLC for legislative consulting and lobbying services.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of the draft contract is attached and incorporated herein and the City Manager is authorized to sign a contract that is not substantially changed from the approved draft.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 10th day of December, 2012.
