RESOLUTION 13-010

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AWARDING THE ART WORK FOR THE FOUR PUBLIC RESTROOM FACILITIES TO JOSHUA NORDSTROM OF HOMER, ALASKA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,200, MELISSE REICHMAN OF HOMER, ALASKA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,610, AND SHEILA WYNE OF ANCHORAGE, ALASKA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,000 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The Request for Proposals was advertised in the Homer Tribune on October 24, 2012, the Homer News on November 1, 2012, the Anchorage Daily News on October 28, 2012, and posted on the City’s website; and

WHEREAS, Proposals were due by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2012, and five proposals were received by the City Clerk’s Office; and

WHEREAS, The 1% for the Art Selection Committee reviewed the proposals and recommends that Joshua Nordstrom of Homer, Alaska, for his work “Two Sandhill Cranes” in the amount of $4,200; Melisse Reichman of Homer, Alaska, for her work “Roaming the Land” in the amount of $4,610; and Sheila Wyne of Anchorage, Alaska, for her work “Danny J” in the amount of $5,000, and “Selection at Artist’s Discretion” in the amount of $5,000; and

WHEREAS, This award is not final until notice is received by Joshua Nordstrom of Homer, Alaska, Melisse Reichman of Homer, Alaska, and Sheila Wyne of Anchorage, Alaska, from the City of Homer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, hereby awards the art work for the Four Public Restroom Facilities to Joshua Nordstrom of Homer, Alaska, in the amount of $4,200, Melisse Reichman of Homer, Alaska, in the amount of $4,610, and Sheila Wyne of Anchorage, Alaska, in the amount of $10,000 and authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 28th day of January, 2013.
