RESOLUTION 13-106(S)

 

A Resolution of the Homer City Council Awarding the Bid for the Operation and Management of the Homer Animal Shelter to Coastal Animal Care            of Homer, Alaska, in the Amount of $129,988.80 for a Three-Year Contract, with a Two-Year Extension Option, and Authorizing the City Manager to Execute the Appropriate Documents.

 

               WHEREAS, In accordance with the Procurement Policy the Request for Proposals was advertised in the Homer News on June 27 and July 4, 2013, the Peninsula Clarion and Anchorage Daily News on June 30, 2013, and posted on the Clerk's home page; and

 

WHEREAS, Proposals were due on August 22, 2013 and two proposals were received; and

 

WHEREAS, Proposals were reviewed by a committee and interviews were conducted with both proposers; and

 

WHEREAS, The committee determined the low responsive bidder to be Coastal Animal Care of Homer, Alaska, and found them to be qualified to complete the work; and

 

WHEREAS, This award is not final until written notification is received by Coastal Animal Care from the City of Homer.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, hereby approves the contract award for the operation and management of the Homer Animal Shelter to Coastal Animal Care of Homer, Alaska, in the amount of $129,988.80 for a three-year contract, with a two-year extension option, and authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents.

 

               PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 14th day of October, 2013.
