Resolution 13-111 Reissue Request for Proposals for 1% Art for Homer Spit Trail Phase II Project

RESOLUTION 13-111

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL REISSUING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR THE 1% FOR ARTS PROGRAM ON THE HOMER SPIT TRAIL PHASE II PROJECT.

WHEREAS, A Request for Proposals was issued March 2013 for the 1% for Arts Program on the Homer Spit Trail Phase II project; and

WHEREAS, On June 24, 2013 the Homer City Council adopted Resolution 13-064 awarding the art work contract for the project to Tarri Thurman and Marlon Prazen, Mooserun Metalsmiths, of Homer, Alaska;  and

WHEREAS, Mooserun Metalsmiths contacted the Clerk’s office and said they are unable to accept the award because they are closing their studio and relocation is pending; and

WHEREAS, Members of the 1% Art Selection Committee were notified and recommended it is in the best interest of the City to reissue the Request for Proposals. 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Homer City Council hereby approves reissuing the Request for Proposals for the 1% for Arts Program on the Homer Spit Trail Phase II Project.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 25th day of November, 2013.
