Resolution 14-090 Awarding the Contract for Library Site Tree Clearing to Gregoire Construction

RESOLUTION 14-090
 

A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL AWARDING THE LIBRARY SITE TREE CLEARING PROJECT TO GREGOIRE CONSTRUCTION OF HOMER, ALASKA, IN AN AMOUNT OF $2,450 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

                WHEREAS, In accordance with the Procurement Policy, fax-back bids were solicited from twelve area-wide contractors; and

                Whereas, Bids were due on August 21 and seven bids were received (see Memorandum 14-132 from Public Works); and

                WHEREAS, Bids were opened and the firm of Gregoire Construction of Homer, Alaska, was determined to be the low responsive bidder and found to be qualified to complete the work; and

                WHEREAS, The cost of the construction of this project, as reflected in the low bid, is within the budget authorized by the City Council; and

                WHEREAS, This award is not final until written notification of award is received by Gregoire Construction from the City of Homer.

                NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, approves the contract award for the Library Site Tree Clearing Project to the firm of Gregoire Construction of Homer, Alaska, in the amount of $2,450 and authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents.

                PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 8th day of September, 2014.
