RESOLUTION 16-027
A RESOLUTION OF THE HOMER CITY COUNCIL AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR WADDELL WAY ROAD AND WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS 2016 PROJECT TO THE FIRM OF EAST ROAD SERVICES, INC. OF HOMER, ALASKA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $925,570.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, In accordance with the Procurement Policy the Invitation to Bid was advertised in the Homer Tribune on January 27 and February 3, 2016, the Peninsula Clarion on January 31, 2016, posted on the Clerk's home page, and sent to two in-state plans rooms; and
WHEREAS, Bids were due by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016 and seven bids were received by the City Clerk's Office; and
WHEREAS, Bids were publicly opened and read on March 3, 2016 and the firm of East Road Services, Inc. of Homer, Alaska, was determined to be the low responsive bidder in the amount of $925,570.00; and
WHEREAS, East Road Services, Inc. is qualified to complete the work; and
WHEREAS, The work is funded by a State Legislative grant and the Homer Accelerated Roads and Trails Program (HART), the purpose of which is to make road improvements to Waddell Way (see Ordinances 14-42(S) and 15-30); and
WHEREAS, The low bid is within the project budget approved by the City Council.
WHEREAS, This award is not final until written notification is received by East Road Services, Inc. of Homer, Alaska, from the City of Homer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Homer, Alaska, approves the contract award for Waddell Way Road and Water Main Improvements 2016 Project to the firm of East Road Services, Inc. of Homer, Alaska, in the amount of $925,570.00 and authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Homer City Council this 14th day of March, 2016.
