SUBJ: TRAVEL AUTHORIZATION FOR THE MAYOR TO ATTEND THE ALASKA CONFERENCE OF MAYORS/AML BOARD OF DIRECTORS EARLY LEGISLATIVE MEETING IN JUNEAU, FEBRUARY 12-13, 2003.

The City of Homer Procurement Policy and Procedures Manual, page 50, sets for the procedure for Travel Authorization for Mayor, Council and Staff. Travel authorization is required for trips exceeding $250 total estimated cost. This authorization request is for the Mayor to attend the Alaska Conference of Mayors/AML Board of Directors Early Legislative Meeting in Juneau, February 12-13, 2003.

Round Trip Air fare from Homer to Juneau is $346.00. the Room rate is approximately $100.

Total per diem is $53.00 per day, for three meals each.

There is no registration fee.

RECOMMENDATION:

Authorize the Mayor’s travel to Juneau for the Alaska Conference of Mayors/AML Board of Directors Early Legislative Session.
