SUBJ: APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF OF POLICE MARK ROBL TO THE BEACH POLICY COMMITTEE AND NOMINATING HOMER ADVISORY PLANNING COMMISSIONER RICK FOSTER AS THE HOMER REPRESENTATIVE ON THE KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH PLANNING COMMISSION.

Pursuant to Memorandum 03-95(A), anyone who was a member on the Beach Policy Task Force could request appointment to the Beach Policy Committee. Deputy City Clerk Benson recorded the first Beach Policy Committee meeting held on June 16th and advised the City Clerk that Chief of Police Robl indicated his desire to serve as a member on the Committee. The term is open.

Rick Foster, Homer Advisory Planning Commissioner, has voiced a desire to serve on the Kenai Peninsula Borough Planning Commission as Homer's representative. The term expires July 31, 2004.

RECOMMENDATION:

Confirm the appointment of Mark Robl to the Beach Policy Committee for an open ended term and the nomination of Rick Foster as Homer's Representative on the Kenai Peninsula Borough Planning Commission for a term to expire July 31, 2004..
