RE: SFY 2004 MATURE ALASKANS SEEKING SKILLS TRAINING (MASST) GRANT
The Library has been awarded a Mature Alaskans Seeking Skills Training (MASST) (formerly Senior Community Service Employment
Program or SCSEP) Grant of $8,455.20 for SY 2004 (July 1, 2003 through June30, 2004) from the State of Alaska, Department of
Administration, Alaska Commission on Aging. No match from the City of Homer is required.
Funds from this grant will enable the Library program to continue at Friendship Terrace. We continue to receive numerous comments
expressing gratitude for the Friendship Terrace Library. The library provides a comfortable and inviting place for Homer's senior citizens to
read, to be read to by community volunteers, and to learn how to use the Internet. Donations of used books ensure the residents have wide
variety of reading material.
The SFY 2004 Notice of Grant award is attached. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions. Thank You.
