SUBJ: REQUEST FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION PURSUANT TO AS '44.62.310(c)(2), SUBJECTS THAT TEND TO PREJUDICE THE REPUTATION AND CHARACTER OF ANY PERSON, PROVIDED THE PERSON MAY REQUEST A PUBLIC DISCUSSION.

Mayor Cushing requested an Executive Session should the Council find the need to review confidential information during their final selection process. Only those items of confidential nature such as background and financial information may be discussed.

The Executive Session is called pursuant to AS §44.62.310(c)(2), which states: Subjects that tend to prejudice the reputation and character of any person, provided the person may request a public discussion.

Personnel Officer Hobbs has previously contacted the applicants, Shealy, Wrede and Yoder to advise them of the possibility of an Executive Session.

RECOMMENDATION:

Approve the request for Executive Session and conduct under this agenda item.
