SUBJ: APPOINTMENT OF CHRISTINE CELENTANO TO THE HOMER ADVISORY PLANNING COMMISSION, APPOINTMENTS OF CAROLE R. HAMIK AND DEBORAH A. POORE TO THE HOMER PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMISSION, REAPPOINTMENT OF NANCY LORD AND BETTE SEAMAN TO THE LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD.

Christine Celentano has indicated her desire to serve the City of Homer on the Homer Advisory Planning Commission. She is a City resident, from the annexed area, and is in voting precinct Homer No. 1, or 35-01. This seat was previously held by Irene Randolf. Her term expired July 1, 2003 and she did not wish reappointment. Ms. Celentano's term is a three year term and will expire July 1, 2006, at which time she may request reappointment.

Carole R. Hamik and Deborah A. Poore have indicated their desire to serve the City of Homer on the Homer Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission. They are both long time City residents. Carole R. Hamik was previously on the Commission. Carole R. Hamik will be appointed to the vacancy from her previous seat. Her term will expire October 31, 2004 at which time she may request reappointment for the rest of that term that expires October 31, 2005.

Deborah A. Poore will be appointed to fill a vacancy. Her term will expire October 31, 2004 at which time she may request reappointment for the rest of that term that expires October 31, 2005.

Nancy Lord and Bette Seaman are reappointed to the Library Advisory Board for three year terms each which will expire April 1, 2006, at which time they may request further reappointment.

RECOMMENDATION:

Confirm the appointment of Christine Celetano to the Homer Advisory Planning Commission for a three year term, the appointments of Carole R. Hamik and Deborah A. Poore to the Homer Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission for one year terms each, and reappointment of Nancy Lord and Bette Seaman to the Library Advisory Board.
