SUBJ: REQUEST FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION PURSUANT TO AS '44.62.310(C)(1), MATTERS, THE IMMEDIATE
KNOWLEDGE OF WHICH WOULD CLEARLY HAVE AN ADVERSE EFFECT UPON THE FINANCES OF THE
GOVERNMENT UNIT.
City Manager Wrede, City Attorney Tans and Finance Director Baugh request an Executive Session pursuant to AS
44.62.310(c)(1), as noted in the subject line above, to discuss a Legal Matter and Land Acquisition with the City Attorney,
that affects the finances of the City.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the request for Executive Session and conduct under New Business as Item A.

SUBJ: REQUEST FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION PURSUANT TO AS '44.62.310(c)(2),
SUBJECTS THAT TEND TO PREJUDICE THE REPUTATION AND CHARACTER OF ANY PERSON,
PROVIDED THE PERSON MAY REQUEST A PUBLIC DISCUSSION.
Mayor Cushing requested an Executive Session be held in conjunction with the City Manager selection process to review background and financial information obtained on City Manager applicants. Only those items pertaining to background and financial information may be discussed.
The Executive Session is called pursuant to AS §44.62.310(c)(2), which states: Subjects that tend to prejudice the
reputation and character of any person, provided the person may request a public discussion.
Personnel Officer Hobbs will be contacting the applicants to advise them of this Executive Session request. Council may
want to invite Personnel Officer Hobbs into the Executive Session for review of these matters.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the request for Executive Session and conduct under New Business as Item A. in conjunction with the City
Manager Selection process.
