SUBJ: NEW LIQUOR LICENSE AND RESTAURANT DESIGNATION PERMIT FOR THE MANGIA! MANGIA!

Notice from the ABC Board of a new Liquor License for Mangia! Mangia! for a Restaurant/Eating Place License and Restaurant Designation Permit was received on March 28, 2003.

The Restaurant Designation Permit is to allow access of persons under 21 years of age, that persons between the ages of 16 and 21 may dine unaccompanied, that persons under the age of 16 may dine accompanied by a person 21 years or older and that persons between 16 and 19 may be employed.

Memoranda from Chief of Police Robl state that the Homer Police Department have no objections to this liquor license renewal.

The Kenai Peninsula Borough has issued non objection.

Pursuant to Council's Operating Manual all new liquor licenses require a public hearing. The public hearing was advertised in the Homer News on April 3, 2003, was posted on the City Clerk's Home Page, at the Library and Port/Harbor Office, and placed in the four City kiosks. The public hearing was held during the April 14th meeting under public hearings.

RECOMMENDATION:

It is the recommendation of staff that the Homer City Council "voice non objection and approval" for the new Liquor License and Restaurant Designation Permit for Mangia! Mangia!
