SUBJ: REAPPOINTMENT OF SUE MAUGER TO THE LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD AND MELVIN STRYDOM TO THE PORT/HARBOR ADVISORY COMMISSION AND APPOINTMENT OF GAIL PARSONS, CONNIE ALDERFER RON SENUNGETUK, ASIA FREEMAN AND DAVE ANDERSON TO THE PUBLIC ARTS COMMITTEE.
Sue Mauger's term on the Library Advisory Board expired April 1, 2003, she has served part of a year. She has requested
reappointment and due to her dedication to the Library I am reappointing her for a three year term to expire April 1, 2006.
Melvin Strydom's term on the Port/Harbor Advisory Commission expired February 1, 2003. He has requested
reappointment and due to his dedication to serving the citizens of Homer and his dedication to the Homer Port and Harbor I
am reappointment him for a three year term to expire February 1, 2006.
Pursuant to HCC §18.07.060 the City Council shall appoint a Public Arts Committee consisting of seven members and that
appointments will be for two year terms.
Gail Parsons is the Education Director at the Pratt Museum and is on Bunnell Street Gallery Board. She has been a long
time resident of Homer and involved in the community.
Connie Alderfer is a member of Homer Council on the Arts, a relator and a long time community member.
Ron Senungetuk is a Homer area resident.
Asia Freeman has worked at Bunnell Street Gallery for years, is a member of the Fine Arts Community and has a long
history in the local arts.
Dave Anderson has worked at KBBI (Kachemak Bay Broadcasting, Inc.) Radio Station since its inception except for a two
year period when he worked on the Town Square Project with KHLT (Kachemak Heritage Land Trust).

The lat two members will be appointed during the May 12, 2003 Regular Meeting, a member of the public at large and a
City Administration nomination.
RECOMMENDATION:
Confirm the reappointment of Sue Mauger to the LAB for three years and Melvin Stydom to the P/H Commission for three years and Appoint Gail Parsons, Connie Alderfer, Ron Senungetuk. Asia Freeman and Dave Anderson to the Public Arts Committee for a term of two years each.
