SUBJECT: REAPPOINTMENT OF MICHAEL HAWFIELD TO THE LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD, APPOINTMENT OF VALERIE CONNOR TO THE HOMER ADVISORY PLANNING COMMISSION, APPOINTMENT OF JOHN VELSKO TO THE PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND REGIONAL CITIZENS’ ADVISORY COUNCIL (PWSRCAC), AND DENNIS GANN TO THE PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION.

Michael Hawfield requested reappointment to the Library Advisory Board. He was initially appointed to fill Michael Armstrong’s vacancy for a one year term. Mr. Hawfield’s new term will expire April 1, 2007.

I am appointing Valerie Connor to the Homer Advisory Planning Commission. She will fill Bill Smith’s vacancy which expires July 1, 2006. Commissioner Data Sheet attached.

John Velsko requested appointment to the Port and Harbor Commission and I asked him if he would be willing to serve as the City’s representative on the Prince William Sound Regional Citizens’ Advisory Council (PWSRCAC).

Dennis Gann requested appointment to the Parks and Recreation Commission. He will fill R. J. Langman’s vacancy which expires October 31, 2004. I would like to appoint Mr. Gann to a three-year term to expire October 31, 2007. Commissioner Data Sheet attached.

RECOMMENDATION:

Confirm the reappointment of Michael Hawfield to the Library Advisory Board, the appointment of Valerie Connor to the Planning Commission, the appointment of John Velsko to the Prince William Sound Regional Citizens’ Advisory Council, and the appointment of Dennis Gann to the Parks and Recreation Commission for the terms noted.
