SUBJ: SELECTION/APPOINTMENT OF MAYOR PRO TEMPORE FOR 2004/05.

Homer City Code Section1.24.080, Mayor's Absence, calls for the Council to appoint a Mayor Pro Tempore by a majority vote of the Council. The Mayor Pro Tempore acts as Mayor in the Mayor's temporary absence or disability.

Secret Ballots are provided for your convenience.

RECOMMENDATION:

Michael Yourkowski is selected/appointed as Mayor Pro Tempore for the City of Homer for 2004/05.


On October 25th Councilmembers Rose Beck and Doug Stark were nominated. Council called for secret ballots. Ballots cast - three for Councilmember Rose Beck and three for Councilmember Doug Stark. Council tabled selection to the next meeting, November 15, 2004.

On November 15, 2004, Taken from the Table. Nominations reopened. Michael Yourkowski nominated. Secret ballots. Ballots cast - four for Councilmember Michael Yourkowski, two for Councilmember Doug Stark and zero for Councilmember Rose Beck. Michael Yourkowski was selected/appointed as Mayor Pro Tempore.
