Water and Sewer Local Improvement Projects
Approval to Award
Design/Construction Administration
Public Works has
requested a proposal from William J. Nelson and Associates, Kenai, AK
to
provide design and construction administration for the two LIDs
referenced
above. Two years ago, Nelson responded
to our RFP and was found to be the most qualified to complete water and
sewer
design. The firm successfully designed
four LIDs that were constructed last summer.
The cost to complete
the design is as follows:

Public Works review
of the above referenced proposals indicates that the fees proposed are
fair and
reasonable; and are within the budgets established for the projects.
Recommendation:
Council award the
design of these two projects to William J. Nelson and Associates,
(South
Kachemak Drive Phase I Sewer in the amount of $40,551; Ocean Drive Loop
Sewer)
in the amount of $59,431) and authorize the City Manager to execute all
appropriate documents.
