SUBJ: TRAVEL AUTHORIZATION FOR THE MAYOR TO ATTEND THE ALASKA CONFERENCE OF MAYORS/ALASKA MUNICIPAL LEAGUE BOARD OF DIRECTORS WINTER MEETING IN JUNEAU, JANUARY 25 - 26, 2005.

The City of Homer Procurement Policy and Procedures Manual, page 50, sets for the procedure for Travel Authorization for Mayor, Council and Staff. Travel authorization is required for trips exceeding $250 total estimated cost.

This authorization request is for the Mayor to attend the Alaska Conference of Mayors/Alaska Municipal League Board of Director Meeting in Juneau, January 25, and 26, 2005.

Round Trip Air fare is approximately $394.30. POV is $0.375/mile. Room rates at the Westmark Barnoff, adjacent to Centennial Hall - the meeting location, are $109.00 per night. Total per diem is $53.00 per day, for three meals each.

RECOMMENDATION:

Approve the requested authorization.
