SUBJECT: Ordinance 05-12 – Amending Homer City Code Sections 21.49.040(e)(1) to read 35,000 square feet and 21.49.040(e)(3) to read 25,000 square feet, and 21.50.040(e)(1) to read 45,000 square feet.
The Homer Advisory Planning Commission at the regular meeting of March 2, 2005 discussed the above referenced ordinance. The understanding of the Commission was that the City Council requested a recommendation from the Commission following this meeting. The Commission does not have a recommendation at this time.
Homer City Code 21.70.020 Amendment Procedure requires the Homer Advisory Planning Commission hold a public hearing on proposed zoning ordinance amendments. This section of the code further stipulates that after the public hearing the Commission shall send written recommendations to the City Council along with certified copies of minutes and public records relating to the proposed amendment.
Staff did not receive ordinance 05-12 in time to schedule it for public hearing on March 2 because of public notice requirements. The Commission has scheduled it for public hearing on March 16, 2005. The written recommendations of the Commission will be provided to the City Council following the regular meeting of March 16, 2005.
