SUBJ: TRAVEL AUTHORIZATION FOR THE MAYOR AND/OR COUNCILMEMBERS
AND/OR CITY MANAGER TO ATTEND THE ALASKA CONFERENCE OF
MAYORS/ALASKA MUNICIPAL LEAGUE BOARD OF DIRECTORS WINTER MEETING,
JANUARY 24 AND 25, 2006 IN JUNEAU.
The City of Homer Procurement Policy and Procedures Manual, page 50, sets for the procedure for
Travel Authorization for Mayor, Council and City Manager. Travel authorization is required for
trips exceeding $250 total estimated cost.
This authorization request is for the Mayor and/or Councilmembers and/or City Manager to attend
the 2006 Winter AML Board Meeting/Alaska Conference of Mayors Meeting/Legislative Steering
Committee Chairs Meeting, January 24 and 25, 2006, in Juneau, Alaska.
Round Trip Air fare is approximately $350.00 - $400.00. Room rates are approximately $100
per night. Per diem is $53.00 per day, for three meals.
Two Day Session Registration fee is $50.00.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the requested authorization.
Fiscal Note: Mayor and Council: 2006 Budget: 100.100.5236, Transportation: $6,500.00 and100.100.5237, Subsistence: $4,500.00, and 100.100.5235, Membership/Fees/Dues - for AML etc.: $7,000.00.
