SUBJ: HOMER PARTICIPATING IN THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES

The National League of Cities (NLC) is different from the National Association of Cities. The Alaska Municipal League is a member of the National League of Cities.

During the AML Conference the NLC was mentioned including the benefits, special sessions, resources and conferences thereof.

I'd like the Council to discuss our future participation in the NLC and possible membership. Membership for Homer's population is about $1,000.00. The membership due chart is located on the NLC Website, printing attempts failed.

RECOMMENDATION:

Discuss Homer participating in the National League of Cities.

Fiscal Note: $1,000.00 for membership, not budgeted.
