Construction Contract Award Recommendations

Public Works opened bids for the above referenced project on June 22. Below are the results:

AAA Fence, Inc. Anchorage, AK $ 69,888.00

McKinley Fence of Alaska Anchorage, AK $ 98,804.40

East Road Services, Inc Homer, AK $ 99,184.00

Frontier Fence Anchorage, AK $ 77,675.16

Public Works has reviewed the bids and evaluated the responsiveness of each bidder. The apparent low responsive bidder is AAA Fence, Inc.. The Engineer’s estimate is $86,409.

The entire cost of this project is eligible for reimbursement under the Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant (151-735).

Recommendation: The City Council should authorize the City Manager to issue a Letter of Intent to Award to AAA Fence, Inc. Upon meeting the conditions of the Bid Documents, the City Manager should be authorized to award the contract to AAA Fence, Inc. in the amount of $69,888; issue a Notice to Proceed, and execute all required documents needed to complete this project (in accordance with previous authorizations by the City Council).
