SUBJ: CANCELING THE JULY 17TH SPECIAL MEETING PREVIOUSLY SCHEDULED, PURSUANT TO COUNCIL'S MEETING SCHEDULE AS SET BY RESOLUTION 05-128, AND CONDUCTING ONLY THE JULY 24TH MEETING

Pursuant to Resolution 05-128, the first Regular Meeting in July was canceled and a Special Meeting was set for the following Monday, July 17, 2006, to facilitate a summer break and in celebration of Independence Day. A Special Meeting was set in case any pending matters should require Council's attention before the July 24th Regular Meeting day.

Last year, on May 24, 2005 the City Council, via Memorandum 05-95, canceled the Special meeting in July, which was July 18, 2005, having been set by Council's Meeting Schedule via Resolution 04-103.

Administration agrees that there are no pending matters requiring the Council to conduct a special meeting in July.

RECOMMENDATION:

Cancel the July 17th Special Meeting and conduct the one scheduled Committee of the Whole and Regular Meeting scheduled for July 24, 2006.
