Background
The Port and Harbor Advisory
Commission discussed proposed changes to the Marine Commercial and Marine Industrial District Zoning (6/14/06
version) as Item A under New Business at
is regular meeting on June 28, 2006.
The Commission reviewed staff report
PL 06-67 from City Planner, Beth McKibben, received
input from Port and Harbor staff and city resident Val McLay. The Commission also viewed an aerial photo and zoning district map provided
by the Planning Department.
The Commission passed the following
two motions:
VELSKO/MARTIN
– PORT AND HARBOR COMMISSION RECOMMENDS RESTAURANTS,
DRINKING ESTABLISHMENTS, CAMPGROUNDS AND ROOMING HOUSES AS ACCESSORY USE SHOULD NOT BE ADDED TO PERMITTED
USES IN THE MARINE INDUSTRIAL AND MARINE
COMMERCIAL, BUT SHOULD GO THROUGH
THE CONDITIONAL USE.
ULMER/VELSKO
– MOVED TO STICK WITH THE EXISTING 20,000 SQ. FT. LOTS, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE 10,000 SQ. FT. EXISITNG LOTS AND HAVE 5
FT. SETBACKS IN THE MARINE COMMERCIAL.
Recommendations
Please consider the advice of the
Port and Harbor Commission before adopting permanent
changes to the Marine Industrial and Marine Commercial districts on the Homer Spit.
