SUBJ: DRAFT RESOLUTION REGARDING FEE PARKING AMENDMENTS

The Port and Harbor Commission discussed the draft resolution that would amend the parking fee schedule as follows

“The City of Homer Port and Harbor, Harbormaster’s Office shall issue to each individual with an assigned reserved stall a parking pass that provides for free parking in the area between the Harbormaster’s Office and the Salty Dawg only while using the Small Boat Harbor Facility or while using the boat assigned to that stall, up to 24 hours.”

as an informational item at its regular meeting on June 28, 2006.

The consensus of the Port and Harbor Commission was that any future parking improvements should provide preferential parking spots for affected reserve stall lessees. Further that this amendment was premature in that less than sixty spaces are currently designated as fee parking and that all other parking on the Spit remains free. Port and Harbor Commission expressed a continued desire to be included in the discussion of future Spit parking fee amendments.
