SUBJECT: Ordinance 06-20(A) An Ordinance of the City Council of the City Of Homer, Alaska, Amending Homer City Zoning Map to Rezone to a Gateway Business District (A Sub District of the Central Business District) Portions of Rural Residential (RR) and Portions of Urban Residential (UR) Zoning Districts Fronting on the Sterling Highway West Hill Area to the South West Boundary of the Central Business District

At the regular meeting of the Homer Advisory Planning Commission, August 2, 2006 the Commission discussed the joint work session that was held with the City Council on July 31, 2006. The Commission had a work session scheduled for August 9, 2006 but changed that meeting to a special meeting, with the intention to finish work on the proposed Gateway Business District.

The Commission requests that the City Council to extend enactment date on the CBD expansion from September 15 to a later date. This would allow the Council an opportunity to consider the Gateway Business District before expanding the Central Business District.

The Commission will continue working on the Gateway Overlay District and provide it to the Council for consideration at a later date.
