Subject: Kachemak City Septic Tank Pumping Contract

AWARD RECOMMENDATION

On August 18, 2006, the City received bids for the tri-annual pumping contract for the VGES tanks in Kachemak City. The work involves the pumping and backflushing of 116 septic tanks. The Invitation to Bid was advertised in the Homer Tribune on 8/09/06 and 8/16/06. Two bids were received, as summarized below:

1. Homer Septic Services $18,000

2. Aardvark Pumping $26,100

Fiscal Note

This work is paid for through a portion of their monthly sewer rate and funded under account 200.5210.504.

Recommendation

Award the City of Homer 2006 Septic Tank Pumping Contract to Homer Septic Services in the amount of $18,000.
