SUBJ: TRAVEL AUTHORIZATION FOR COUNCILMEMBER WYTHE TO ATTEND AML RETIREMENT MANAGEMENT BOARD MEETING IN ANCHORAGE, AUGUST 30, 2006.

During Council's Regular Meeting of August 14, 2006 Councilmember Wythe, under Council comments, noted that AML would be having a Retirement Management Board Meeting in Anchorage on August 30th and that she would be interested in attending, on behalf of the City, if she could get time off from work and if that is a supported concept.

There were no objections from the Mayor and Council.

The City of Homer Procurement Policy and Procedures Manual, page 50, sets for the procedure for Travel Authorization for Mayor, Council and City Manager. Travel authorization is required for trips exceeding $250 total estimated cost.

This authorization request is for Councilmember Wythe to attend the August 30, 2006 Retirement Management Board Meeting in Anchorage.

Travel is estimated at $250.00, Subsistence is estimated at $200.00 plus per diem, $53.00 per day, for three meals.

RECOMMENDATION:

Approve the requested authorization.
